Music Festival ' 2006

The new academic session for the year 2006-2007 started as usual with the hustle and bustle of new admissions, new classes, new teachers, new friends and of course new syllabus but that was not all, something else was happening. You could sense excitement in the air of the Middle School. Yes, the children were all excited preparing for the auditions being held for the Music Fest 2006. One could find our young music lovers everywhere-singing during break time practicing in their free periods and sneaking down to the music room at available opportunity!

Finally the dawned, the 25th of April 2006! The Music Fest 2006 was on for all the classes (4-10) in the Middle School. The fest was divided into 2 sessions, first for classes 4-6 and the second session for classes 7-10. Students were allowed to participate i.e. 'Vocals' and 'instrumental' with a choice of sub-categories like Indian Classical and Western to choose from.

The most awaited category was the 'bands category' for the senior boys from classes 8, 9 and 10. Each band had their unique identity with their original flavours.

We had two great musically inclined judges-Br. Finn, our very own vice principal, and Mrs. Das, none other than the talented Junior School music teacher. Prathyush and Shivam compared the entire programme.

We had a very committed music team who encouraged and helped in getting the students prepared and organised for the fest. We had Mrs. Doris Nazareth, Mrs. Montero, Mrs. Renu Manglik, and Mrs. Abha Verma teaming up Mr. Samuel McDonald in this task. The entire staff supported the Music Fest with their participation and helped maintain discipline. It was a day where every wind of song was sung, different instruments were played and the bands performed in their own creative talented styles.

It was a tough competition for all the contestants but a great show of talent enjoyed by the audience. The staff and students cheered and clapped encouraging the participants.

Yes, it felt like it ended too soon but lets keep ourselves cheerful the next will be coming soon!
